Feb 18, 2013 Armed Robbers in Caleta de Campos!

We were not robbed, but the vessel next to us was.  At just before 2am, three young men with ski masks and one hand gun boarded the neighboring catamaran and pulled off this robbery in an amateurish manner.  They took some valuables, cash, liquor and "stupid stuff" according to the captain of S/C Moontide.  No one was hurt.

We left the next morning for Manzanillo, leaving Moontide to the task of reporting the robbery to the authorities.  Coincidently, there is a rock formation on the west side of the harbor that resembles President Nixon and I thought that remembering his quote from before he resigned as president was appropriate.

Overnight to Manzanillo was only remarkable because of the calm conditions, the several whale sightings, being able to fill our water tanks and then being able to sail in the dark for about five hours to the Manzanillo harbor.  We are anchored off the Resort Las Hadas ready to explore.
